Taiwan Digital Cable TV Summit on 1 September

TAIPEI: The Taiwan Digital Cable TV Summit 2003, organised by Media Partners Asia and The Cable Broadband Institute in Taiwan, will be held at the Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei on 1 September 2003. 
A press release says that the event will provide a unique opportunity to network with and gain insight from regulatory, programming, technology and finance leaders from local, regional and international cable TV communities.
The deliberations will cover topics that will throw light on how the cable TV industry will transition from an over regulated utility to a consumer focused commercial digital media franchise. It will also focus on the leading players, the political ramifications, economic impact and technological support.
Taiwan government information office minister Huang Hwei-chen, Minister will be the keynote speaker for the inaugural session. The other sessions are: 
* 21st Century Digital competition
* Programming in the Digital Age: traditional, transactional and interactive models
* The future of Digital technology
* Building Broadband
* Cable TV economics and finance
The list of speakers includes industry leaders such as AXN MD Todd Miller; BBC World head of network development (Asia) Nic van Zwanenberg; Nagravision AsiaPac V-P sales Peter Iannazzo; NDS AsiaPac V-P and GM Sue Taylor; Tandberg Television AsiaPac V-P Graham Craddock amongst others.
