TAM ratings continue to show Star Plus shows on top

 Star_Plus

Star Plus continues to rule the roast in the latest TRP ratings released by A.C. Nielsen's TAM service. 40 of its shows occupy the Top 100 slots for TAM ratings for the week ending 1 September 2001 for 15 markets, and nine of its programmes occupy the Top 10 category.

Among the new shows which continue to gain in strength are: Khulja Sim Sim (this show has left Kaun Banega Crorepati yards behind and immediately follows the top 2 soaps), Kangan, Kya Masti Kya Dhum (real improvements must have been made on the show for it to creep up on the ratings charts), and ...SSShhhh Koi hain.

Older stalwarts such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani ghar Ghar Ki, Sonpari, Kalash, Shagun, Sanskruti, Kaun Banega Crorepati, Chalti ka naam antakshari continue to hold their own.

Sun TV's Chithi is the first non-Star Plus programme on the ratings pecking order taking up the 10th and 11th spots. Sun has 13 shows in the Top 100, while Gemini accounts for 36 programmes of The Top 100. Sony has eight shows but its CID occupies the 12th spot and the Balaji Telefilms produced Kkusum accounts for the 35th, 46th 53rd and 93rd places. Shree Ganesh at 49, Aahat at 61, and Heena at 92 go to make the rest of the Sony show reel.

Mehandi Tere Naam Ki (65), Amanat (74) and Koshish Ek Aasha (99) are Zee TV's candidates in The Top 100. All of these shows are part of the old Zee TV programming stable.
